Moving Day (8.10.12)

Since we were able to get our key earlier than we thought, we checked out of our hotel and headed to campus to move in! Once again, we got completely ripped off by another taxi...but we didn't want that to ruin our day! We took all of our bags in and settled in to our FIRST HOME! We quickly decided that it needed a home and not long after we decided on The Bani Bungalow :D
Ashkon started setting up our airport express for our internet and I began to organize.

After working up an appetite, we took a break for lunch. Our first meal in the Bani Bungalow: Peanut Butter on Rice Cakes! The perfect meal for the start of being once again "starving students" but now we are a "starving couple" in medical school!

We took another break for Ash to get his ID and register for his classes! Then, since we had decided our snacks were no longer sufficient as meals, we took some time to check out the store! I have to say, trying to buy groceries in EC - having to first convert to USD, then think about how much it usually is in the US , then deciding whether that item is worth the amount it is - is definitely not one of my favorite things to do...Needless to say, our first shopping trip was somewhat stressful and once again disheartening to realize how much more expensive healthier food is. But, again, Ashkon was really encouraging, telling me we would figure things out and even let me get a few healthier options even though they were a little expensive. Overall everything was extremely over priced and we couldn't believe what we had to pay for what we bought (Time to Start Budgeting!)

First ride on the SGU bus

Our new grocery store: IGA

BACK TO WORK!

Time for Dinner! Starting our "Egg Diet" (Cheap & Healthy)

Our Toaster made the trip & works!! Unfortunately due to the different plugs and voltage and hertz and so on, Ashkon only lets us keep it on for about 2 minutes MAX at a time :)

First Dinner in the Bani Bungalow!

Omelettes with wheat bread and fresh tortillas

YUM!

And we love our new ice tray!! :)

After dinner, we continued to unpack and put things in their new home (since everything was on our bed), set up our bed and fell asleep watching the Giants play! [Thanks Mom and Pop :) ]
Today was a good day! And we know there will be a lot more in the Bani Bungalow :D
