After one hour of sleep the night before and a full day of travel, we were in need of some good rest! We slept in, taking our time to get ready for our day! Moving to a place where you know where nothing is and have no where to get there even if you we knew where we wanted to go is not easy. But, regardless, we decided we wanted to go to St. George's University (SGU) to look around. We looked at a map and it didn't look TOO far, so we decided we would walk.

Got it!
As soon as we got to the bottom of the hill, a van pulled up and asked us if we wanted to go to St. George's.
"Well we don't really know where we were going and it is pretty hot...It's kinda sketchy but it shouldn't be too long of a drive...Why not!"
So, we jumped in the van thinking we would be there in no time. Instead of going the direction we had decided was campus we turned up this other hill and started our drive.
"Hmm...maybe they know a sneaky way to get to campus..."
Nope. About 30 minutes after driving all around the island picking up anyone and everyone on the street corner we realized that we were going to downtown St. George's (the capital of Grenada) not St. George's University!
At this point there were about 17 people in this 12 passenger taxi van (We later found out these are known as Reggae Buses)- people just kept piling in pulling out chairs from all places in the van. Not long after this we realized that we have two $1 bills other than some big USD bills. We somewhat stressfully ask the lady next to me how much the taxi is- when she sees what we have she surprisingly tells us that the $2 is enough. (Something that is cheap in Grenada?? Yes the reggae buses are 2.50 EC- less than $1 USD- for a ride) Since we had no idea where we were, we decided to get off where our "new friend" got off. We were somewhat frazzled after our unexpected trip- needless to say not much downtown exploring went on this trip. We knew we needed some money to get back so we went to find an atm. After walking a little ways we an atm and got our first EC! We used some to get water bottles then asked around to find out which bus would take us to St. George's UNIVERSITY! We quickly found one and about an hour and a half later than we thought we reached our true destination- St. George's University (SGU)!

Our new home!
We walked around campus- more like hiked around campus! It is full of hills everywhere!
A few odd similarities to APU:
1. There are awkward stairs! What are the chances!
2. It is really bright like West Campus.
Weird...but anyways, we toured around with our map acting very much like new students :) We even got asked in the library if we needed some help or had any questions because apparently it was that obvious haha But we were having fun! We walked over to the housing buildings and found our RA's place. We weren't supposed to be able to move in until Saturday but he actually gave us our key so we decided we would come back in the morning to move in! We noticed we were a little hungry after all of our exercising around campus. We checked out the on-campus food options and decided on a pizza- Ashkon thought it was bland, I didn't think it was too bad! (I might have just been really hungry- we sort of missed lunch during our previous escapade :) haha) We had a lot of fun looking around campus and seeing where are lives would primarily be for the next two years!
When we got back to our hotel, I made my first FREE phone call to the states with the app Viber (if you don't have it get it!). The connection wasn't the best but it was so great to talk to my mom and tell her a little bit about our first day! The call didn't last long because we started getting eaten by mosquitoes...not long after Ashkon and I turned in for the night. We definitely knew our new lives were going to take some time to get adjusted to but we were trusting God knowing that He would be with us each step of the way!
