Finals are Over, Time to Enjoy the SUN!!

Ash finished his FIRST TERM FINALS and of course our first stop was Yum Yum for some Fro Yo! :D
He wasn't used to be outside...
That's better :)
Anyone see something familiar on the menu?? If you're a true Californian, you should notice this ;)

Then, we headed to Grand Anse beach to meet up with some friends! It was so much fun to just hang out and actually go to the beach with my husband!!

Not long after we arrived in Grenada, we started hearing about hashes that happened every Saturday. It basically is a fun event where you walk or run to follow a trail that has been set up. You continue on the correct trail by following scraps of paper that are spread out throughout the trail. However, there are also false trails- and believe me, you do not want to get lost in Grenada so you really want to keep your eyes out to make sure you are still on the right trail :) We never were able to go because Ash was always studying, but there was one more in between finals and our flight out so we decided that we had to do it! Until the day we went, we actually thought that a hash was unique to Grenada. But, we were told that it is actually worldwide! We had a lot of fun! We tried to run as much as possible but this trail was hard! The hills were absolutely ridiculous- I had never seen such steep hills in my life! Then, half way through we had to cross a stream a couple of times. The most fun part though was that you basically run through little residential areas and people's backyards. But, a ton of people would just be hanging out in their front yard or in the street where we were running and would cheer us on as we passed by! It was fun! Afterwards, we got some local food and Tings (Local soda- grapefruit flavor) and hung out with friends! Once we got home we were exhausted!

Our friends decided to start a tradition that at the end of each term they would try a new restaurant with friends! They invited us, so we got to try a new place too- The Red Crab. Minus the fact that it took 2 hours to get our food and our water cups were not refilled once, it was pretty good! :p It was fun to get a break from packing though and spend some time with friends before we headed home!

Hanging and Packing at the Bani Bungalow! These are the first term powerpoint slides that are given to each student at the beginning of the term. Ash did use them once because they also had every single slide from first term online which is where he took his notes. And they don't recycle in Grenada...what a waste!

We decided that we couldn't have our last couple of days just packing up. So, our last morning we invited friends over for a pancake breakfast and games! Two couples were able to come- and these two couples had never played Rummikub (one of our favorites) or Bananagrams!! We had so much fun playing! One of the couples loved Rummikub so much that they bought it the first day they were home!

Packing up...We were very blessed that we got to stay in our place for next term, however, we still have to pack EVERYTHING into one of our closets while we were gone. (Friends recommended this to us if we wanted to be sure that everything would still be there when we got back.) It took much longer than we thought, and required quite a bit of strategic organizing but we did it!

California, here we come!!!!
