No Spring Showers Brings a Drought

Yes, we are currently in a drought in Grenada! It hasn't rained for weeks! And yes they actually locked us out of our laundry room...Only in Grenada! Luckily, it was temporary or this would have been one stinky campus!!!

But MORE IMPORTANTLY, I have gained a NEW NIECE & a NEW NEPHEW since my last post!! I am one proud auntie!! I have met them on Facetime but I can't wait to really meet them and hold them!! And they are soo cute!!! My count is at 6 now!! Wow, never thought I would be 23 with 6 nieces and nephews! :D

This term I joined the Photography Club. I went on our first excursion to Mt. Carmel. It was really fun to try out new settings on the camera and teach myself some Photoshop skills when I got home for fun! Here are some of my pictures with the original and the edited version!

My first time trying out Photoshop...I didn't take the time to try to fix the whiteness of the sky but it was fun to play around with it!

I have not edited the rest of these photos from the hike yet...

Here are a few more photos that I edited! The original is on the TOP.

I tried a new Veggie burger recipe that ended up being pretty good! (Find the recipe on Real Simple or on my March Recipes post!)

At the beginning of March, I got an email from Bethany about a job opportunity that I would maybe be interested in! As my sisters, mom and I have been thinking more and more about doing our own blog, we have done a lot of research by looking at other popular blogs! One of our favorites has become The Dating Divas! If you haven't heard of them- go check out their blog thedatingdivas.com So, Bethany had seen on their blog that they were hiring two new assistants! I was very interested since an online job would be perfect for my life situation right now and I would love to learn more about blogging from women who (1) are developed and successful in their blogging business and (2) completely believe in the true value of marriage and the importance of continually working to strengthen your marriage! I worked on applications for the job all month and I actually made it to the top 20 out of over 400 applicants!!! I am currently waiting to hear back for the last cut- either getting the job or not but it has been a really cool experience! We will see what happens! :)

I went on my second hash with Marieke, Emily, & Becca! It was all through St. George's so it was fun to see downtown from a different perspective! And there were LOTS of HILLS! We had a great time!!
The Group :)
Showing off our cool stuff!
I got my own pic because my Hydrapak couldn't be seen in the pic...
well it was supposed to be my own pic! :p
View during part of the hash
I really wanted to make Ashkon green pancakes for St. Patrick's Day but I didn't know if they even sold it here and guessed that it was probably expensive if they did so I had to be creative...This is what I came up with :)
Yep, those are GREEN Gummi Bears...One melted. Oops!
He seems happy and impressed (?) yea we'll go with that! SUCCESS! :) hehe

Ashkon has his Second Term set of Midterms! It was a tough week with tests on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in Physiology, Genetics, Immunology, and Neurology ! Needless to say, he was worn out by the end of the week. I, as well, was ready for the weekend! Even though I didn't have to study or take the tests, midterms week is always an emotionally exhausting week for us both! But, he ended up doing SOO GREAT!! He was super nervous about getting one of his grades back and it ended up being tied for the highest grade of the week! PRAISE THE LORD!!! God was so faithful this week and has continued to be from the beginning of this journey! It has been really neat to see! And I am so proud of the work and effort that Ash has put into his medical studies! I can't wait for him to become a doctor because I know how good of one he is going to be someday!! I know he's been really busy since the second half has started, but he is trying to get his own update out so look for it if you are on his email list or I will post it here, as well! In the midst of his midterm studying, I went to a fun SO Event called Chalk it Up where we got to paint on little trays to make fun chalkboard decor for our homes!

But now back to the important part :p  ...
Our FREE WEEKEND TOGETHER!!!!
Friday we just HUNG OUT! (What??!!) I know it's been way too long since we have just hung out but it was great! We got to watch a fun show, Last Man Standing, that I had been watching by myself and keeping Ash updated on the funny parts but it's not as fun to watch shows by yourself. So, Ash finally got to see what all my "laughing out loud while I watch a show by myself"(yes, I do this) was about and he really liked it! The main character, Tim Allen, is a dad of all girls and quite frequently reminded me of my dad in the show which made it extra funny! After I got home from Bible Study, I made some "Mom-corn" and we got to watch a movie together! It was a really great and relaxing day which was exactly what Ash needed!
Saturday, we went to the local orphanage with CSA. Ash hasn't gotten to do anything with the kids on the island, so he was pretty excited! And the kids were so happy when we arrived! We just played and loved on these kids for the afternoon- it was great! I should've taken my camera so you could see these precious kids- I'll try to next time we go :) After that, we headed to Yum Yum Cafe for some celebratory Fro Yo! We decided to have another relaxing night and somewhat productive so we popped on Seinfeld (Ash's favorite) and did some cleaning and organizing that was long over due :)

Sunday we went to CSA and then headed over to Hog Island! Ash had never been, so I was really excited to take him! We ran into some of Ash's classmates pretty quickly into the hike who had the same idea for a Sunday afternoon hike so it wasn't exactly the fun alone time (aka no medical school talk) I was expecting and wanting to have but it was still fun! After spending a little time at the beach on Hog Island, we split ways and were able to have some hiking time just us which was nice! And I got to show Ash a little secret place with great views that my friends and I had found the first time we went hiking there! After crossing the bridge on our way home, we started feeling a bit of sprinkling and got a little nervous that we were going to get stuck in a huge rainstorm by the look of the clouds but we were able to end the hike before it started! And then more hanging out for our last night before Ash went back to the grind!

More pics of the kiddos!

Bethany and Mike and Ashkon and I got Rach a Zumba dance wii game. We got this picture a couple days later texted to us saying that she was trying it out and had "Zumba-ed" Hanna to sleep!!
